Grain prices turn upward Thursday
CHICAGO, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Grain prices swung up on the
Chicago Board of Trade Thursday as the dollar strengthened against
the euro and oil prices rose in New York.
Corn was up 14 1/4 to up 14 1/2, soybeans were up 17 to up
22 1/2, wheat was up 55 1/4 to up 56 1/2 and oats were up 3 to up 3
1/4.
The Environmental Protection Agency turned down Texas'
request for a waiver on ethanol mandates.
Wheat traded up as the European Union issued licenses for
357,000 metric tons of wheat exports. Soybeans rose as Brazil
increased its yield estimate from 58.5 million metric tons to 60
million.

3/4, up 14 1/2; May 5.74, up 14 1/4.
Soybeans: Aug 12.43, up 22 1/2; Sep 12.34 1/2, up 21; Nov
12.39, up 17, Jan 12.56 3/4, up 17.
Wheat: Sep 8.22 1/4, up 56 1/2 1/4; Dec 8.47, up 56 1/4; Mar
8.70, up 55 1/4; May 8.84 1/4, up 55 1/4.
Oats: Sep 3.60, up 3; Dec 3.79 1/4, up 3 1/4; Mar 3.98 1/2,
up 3 1/4; May 4.11 1/2, up 3 1/4.
